Private In Home Training

Initial Session

This session is typically 1.5 -2 hours and begins with a brief conversation regarding concerns and goals you’ve highlighted on our consultation form. I like to make sure owners understand why and how certain behaviors start so we can have success moving forward.

We cover how dogs communicate in depth and why your dog may be doing certain things that are causing issues. We discuss how to let your dogs know you like what they’re doing (reinforcement), how to get them to do something else (redirecting), how to get them to stop doing something you don’t like (correcting) and how to set your dog up for long term success.

By the end of the session you’ll have an idea of how many additional sessions your dog realistically may need in order to meet your goals. Some dogs benefit greatly from just one session, while others can take several more. On average, my clients usually schedule 3 sessions.

Follow Up Session(s)

These are scheduled on an “as needed” basis and are typically an hour in length. Follow up sessions are tailored to each specific dog. Some follow up sessions have been focused on (but are not limited to): improving communication and cooperation through play, specific leash walking skills, recall (coming when called), place training, and/or improving impulse control. These are only scheduled after an initial session.

Package of 3 sessions

This package includes the 3 in home private training sessions. Please confirm with Jordan before booking. Sessions valid for 6 weeks from purchase date.

6 Session Puppy Program*

This package is limited to specific situations and may only be available at certain times of the year. Please contact Jordan to see if this program is open and if you and your puppy are a good fit. Sessions valid for 12 weeks from purchase date.

Virtual Session

30 minutes - $40

60 minutes - $60

These sessions can help break down bigger training problems or trouble shoot smaller issues you might be having with your dog. Often times owners just need pointed in the right direction. These quicker sessions are easier to schedule and can be great for knowledgable owners that want to roll up their sleeves and get to work right away.

Virtual sessions are also a great resource for trouble shooting topics like potty training or for a “pre-puppy” do’s and don’ts checklist before you bring home your new family member. Your dog does not need to be present, but I do suggest having a pen and paper ready to take notes. I will wait 5-10 minutes in case a client is running late, however the session begins and ends at the agreed time, despite any delays and will not be extended.

Board and Train

3-6 weeks, dependent on individual dog

This may be the perfect option for an owner traveling out of town or a household that is too busy to do the initial training themselves. An in-home, in-person consultation is required prior to registering, free of charge. The owner will meet halfway through the dogs stay for a hands on practice session. Owners then get a “go-home” session at the conclusion of the program where the training is transferred to the human(s). Completion of this program comes with free continued support for up to 6 months. Dogs that go through this program can reliably:

  • Come when called

  • Perform obedience commands like sit, stay, and down

  • Walk nicely on leash

Because a big portion of our program is off-leash, we utilize the e-collar (e-collar technologies). It is included within the price of the program. A $300 non-refundable deposit is required to register for this package. The remainder of the balance is due upon drop off.

Puppy Program Package

There are SO many decisions to make around getting a puppy, we know how overwhelming it can be. Let us help set you up for success before you even bring home the new member of the family.

Our program works on a multitude of skills and aspects of puppyhood. Building confidence, developing emotional stability, and setting the foundation for a well mannered pup is the foundation of our program. Our personalized training sessions can include but are not limited to:

  • Early socialization including exposure to different sounds, sights, and surfaces. This is incredibly important with puppies under the age of 16 weeks

  • Building a strong bond through different aspects of play and assessing what is most rewarding for your dog

  • Learning obedience skills like sit, stay, down, place, and leave it

  • Teaching your puppy to come when called. (recall)

  • Walking nicely on a leash

  • Creating positive feelings with the crate and other household items (vacuum, etc.)

  • Addressing multi-dog households and how to cooperatively co-exist

  • Guiding and managing proper child-puppy interactions

Puppyhood is truly an invaluable time to create positive feelings and experiences. Many owners think they need to wait until 6 months to start training but training can and should happen almost immediately upon bringing your puppy home. Contact us today and learn how to optimize this important period in their life.

*Puppy program packages may only be available during certain times of the year, and are only to specific situations. Message Jordan to see if you qualify.

In Home Training Sessions

Are you struggling to live the life YOU want with your dog? We can help! In this session-to-session program, we start with an in home consultation and evaluate the owner/dog relationship. We then recommend a course of action that’s carried out through future sessions.

You can schedule these sessions ahead of time or as you go. Busier owners may benefit from several, more frequent sessions to help reinforce behaviors, whereas owners with more free time may benefit from even just one session.

We think it can be misleading to advertise addressing specific issues because often times if a dog has one issue it has many issues, some just haven’t surfaced yet. The typical issues owners face do not appear overnight and neither will the solutions. Be forewarned: if you are looking for a quick fix, we are NOT the right trainer for you.

Here at JZ’s Canine Coaching we believe that dogs are doing the best they can with the information they have. By helping you create and foster meaningful interactions with your dog, we teach you how to teach them.

Working with us will strengthen your relationship, teach you how to better understand them and communicate with them—all helping to solve your problems along the way.

Oftentimes issues originally arise from how owners live with their dogs. We discuss in length how to create an optimal atmosphere for a life of harmony with your dog. If you are open to learning and growing as an owner, give us a call. We look forward to working with you!
